School leaders visited the enterprise for a symposium and exchange.

To expand employment channels and deepen scientific research collaboration, on the afternoon of November 25, Shi Shaopeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, led a delegation comprising Deputy Dean Bai Qiang, Director Zhu Wenying of the Department of Transportation, Director Xiao Mei of the Department of Data and Systems Engineering, and faculty members Wang Yonggang and Li Yi from the Department of Traffic Engineeringsix members in totalto China Railway Construction & Installation Engineering Design Institute Co., Ltd. for an enterprise visit focused on expanding job opportunities and conducting research-oriented exchanges.

General Manager Ren Shuanghong accompanied the school delegation on a tour of the companys Dual Carbon Practice Research Center. The centers director provided a systematic overview of its practical initiatives across five key areas: Sponge Cities,” “Zero-Carbon Cities,” “Zero-Waste Cities,” “Digital Cities, and Artistic Cities. He highlighted successful case studies and advanced experiences in dual carbon research, particularly the Sponge City pilot project at the Western Cloud Valley Science Park in Fengxi New City, Xixian New Area. The delegation also examined innovative technologies developed by the center, including polylactic acid (PLA) products, high-performance novel asphalt pavement materials, intelligent natural ventilation control systems for tunnels, and lightweight, low-carbon automatic tunnel escape passageways.

During the subsequent symposium, General Manager Ren Shuanghong warmly welcomed Secretary Shi and his team. He elaborated on the companys development history, business portfolio, talent needs, and position planning, expressing strong interest in deepening university-enterprise collaboration. He Hua, the companys Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary, reviewed prior communications with the schools research teams and outlined the companys core business areas and regional operations.

Secretary Shi Shaopeng introduced the schools achievements in discipline development, faculty strength, and talent cultivation. He emphasized that this visit aimed to accurately understand the enterprises hiring demands, better align talent development with societal needs, and alleviate structural mismatches in talent supply and demand. He noted that both sides share a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation, and should jointly build a university-enterprise collaboration platform, stay abreast of industry trends, continuously refine talent cultivation mechanisms, enhance alignment between academic programs and industrial requirements, and expand internship and employment pathways for studentsthereby genuinely improving the quality of talent development and supporting higher-quality graduate employment.

Deputy Dean Bai Qiang delivered a dedicated presentation on research collaboration, summarizing the schools overall research capabilities and the main research directions of its six institutes. He proposed concrete suggestions for high-quality joint research projects, co-building research platforms, and jointly applying for provincial- and ministerial-level science and technology awards.

During the open discussion session, Deputy General Manager Ling Jian and Director Chen Xiuping of the Chief Engineers Office engaged in lively dialogue with the school delegation on topics such as talent development and joint scientific research efforts, reaching consensus on multiple fronts.

Finally, Shi Shaopeng and Ren Shuanghong jointly unveiled the plaque for the University-Enterprise Joint Talent Development Base.

This enterprise visit and research exchange has further strengthened ties between the school and the company, laying a solid foundation for enhancing talent cultivation quality and promoting deeper integration of industry, academia, and research.
