College of Transport Engineering Held the Inaugural Meeting of the Young Teachers' Working Committee

On the evening of September 29, 2020, the establishment meeting of the Young Teachers’ Working Committee of College of Transport Engineering was held in the first conference room of the Academic Exchange Center. The guests attending this meeting were chairman of the university trade union——Shen Wei, leaders of the college, leaders of the college trade union, and the associate Professor from the Highway College——Zhang Jiupeng and Luo Xiaoyu. Principals of all offices and all young teachers aged and below 35 years old attended the meeting.

The meeting was divided into two stages. The first stage was the establishment meeting of the Young Teachers’ Working Committee, which was chaired by president of the college trade union——Professor Chen Hong.

On behalf of the university trade union, chairman Shen Wei read out the approval of the establishment of the Young Teachers’ Working Committee of the College of Transport Engineering and expressed congratulations. He said, the age structure of teachers in the college is relatively young, and the committee should give full play to young teachers’ enthusiasm and creativity, showing its vitality and playing its role, striving for a new situation in teaching and scientific research. With the Party Committee’s and trade union’s leadership, as well as administrative support of the college, it’s hopeful that the committee could unite teachers and gather strength to make contributions to the development of the college and the university.

On behalf of the college Party Committee, secretary Tian Xinmin congratulated the establishment of the Young Teachers’ Working Committee, and raised several requirements:

Firstly, based on the long-term consideration, the young teachers shound understand the importance of doing a good job. Secondly, to find the right direction, the college should focus on building a new platform for young teachers work. Thirdly, to serve the overall situation, the college should promote  new achievements of young teachers' work. He hoped that young teachers could release their youthful passion and pursue their youthful ideals in their struggle, and contribute to the development of the college with their youthful spirit and striving spirit.

Dean Yuan Changwei announced the proposed list of candidates for the Young Teachers’ Working Committee of the College of Transport Engineering. Teachers attending the meeting voted and unanimously adopted. Then, Chen Xiqiong, the newly elected vice chairmen of the Committee, made a speech as a representative.

The second stage was the young teacher’s training meeting organized by the Committee. The meeting was chaired by the vice dean of the college, Wang Laijun. He encouraged the youth to learn from prominent teachers, and made every lesson better for students based on teaching.

Professor Zhang Jiupeng, the vice dean of the Highway College, gave a lecture on “Improving teaching ability of young teachers”, and gave a teaching demonstration of ideological and political education on “a country with strong transportation network” course. Luo Xiaoyu, associate professor of the Highway School, shared a lecture titled “How to teach a good class”.
