On the afternoon of November 6, the opening ceremony of the Western Traffic Safety Engineering Technology Research Center and Western Traffic Safety Engineering Joint Laboratory jointly constructed by the School of Transportation Engineering and 3M China Co. Ltd. was held in the conference room of the college. 6 representatives including Gu Chaofeng, General Manager of Traffic Safety Product Department of 3M Greater China, Huang Sizhe, Technical Manager, Xue Yanjun, Chairman of Xi’an Xituo Transportation Facilities Company, Li Gaowang, Chairman of Shaanxi High-speed Traffic Industry and Trade Co. LTD, Xi’an Huage Transportation Facilities Engineering Equipment Zhou Yousheng, Chairman of the Co., Ltd., Tian Xinmin, Secretary of the School of Transportation Engineering, Wu Ximei, Deputy Secretary, Wang Jianjun, Deputy Dean, and the head of the institute attended the unveiling ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Jianjun.

The six representatives including Chaofeng Gu, the general manager of the department of 3M Traffic Safety Products for Greater China and the Technical Manager, Sizhe Huang, Yanjun Xue, the chairman of Xi'an Xituo Transportation Facilities Company, Gaowang Li, the chairman of Shaanxi High-speed Traffic Industry and Trade Co., Ltd., Yousheng Zhou, the chairman of Xi'an Huage Transportation Facilities Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd., and the nine representatives including Xinmin Tian, the secretary of the School of Transportation Engineering, Ximei Wu, Deputy Secretary of the College, Jianjun Wang, Vice President of the College, and the head of college research institute attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Jianjun.

Secretary Tian Xinmin delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. On behalf of the college, he first expressed his sincere gratitude to 3M China Co., Ltd. for its continued support and assistance to the college, and thanked the alumni companies for participating in the opening ceremony. He said that the opening ceremony was a happy event after the establishment of the School of Transportation Engineering. It represented a new starting point for the cooperation between the college and 3M. He hoped that in the future, the college could concentrate all the superior resources, and always go hand in hand with 3M on the new scientific research platform, and make greater contributions to the industry and society.

General Manager Gu Chaofeng delivered a speech expressing his pleasure to come to the college again and thanked the college for its vigorous advancement of cooperation between the two parties after signing the strategic cooperation framework agreement with 3M. He pointed out that the opening ceremony foretells that the cooperation between the two parties will produce more technological achievements in the future and will further promote the transformation of scientific research results. He said that it is a great honor and responsibility to be the first batch of cooperative enterprises at the beginning of the establishment of the college. He hoped that in the future, the two sides would work together to achieve a leading domestic position and become a model of school-enterprise cooperation in the industry on the strategic platform of a powerful transportation country.
